Time to Reflect

So many of us correct others with ease

We volunteer our opinion and don't even ask please

Looking through our eyes as if only we have sight

Losing the gift of seeing another's light

Steadfast in our conviction that we are doing what is right

the path is paved to a needless fight

If we took the time to reflect before we correct

Embracing honesty no matter the effect

We might just find some humility taking over

Working on ourselves so others don't need to take cover

Don't Try

Many of us say " I will try"

Then when success eludes we ask ourselves why

Perplexed and confused we say "again I will try"

thinking that now maybe success is nigh

yet when progress once more turns into a fail

fears return threatening to derail

" Did I not try ", we ask and repeat

Denying our part in this frustrating defeat

Then King David visits when he was a youth

ready to face Goliath the uncouth

Try was never a word he knew

For with G-d he could not try but he could do

So when we open our hearts and decide

try will be a curse word and doing will be our pride

overcoming obstacles and pushing limits aside

When Desperation Reigns

How do you love life when desperation reigns

How do you find the light when darkness gains

How do you recuperate when a challenge stains

Noone has an answer that fits one and all

As life is a gift but not always a ball

You remember G-d believes in you and makes you tall

You are worth too much for your life to continue to stall

Desperation cant reach you when you decide to love you

Darkness does not gain when your light is never blue

A challenge does not stain when it reveals your strength to maintain

So always believe and you will find a way to achieve

When you hear G-d's call you will see beyond the wall

Realizing that no matter how small you felt you were always tall.

Love Yourself

Dont be afraid to love you

Your infinite worth is not up to you

Given by G-D it can never change

Nothing and noone has the power of exchange

You knock your worth when you feel you loose

For no matter what you always have the ability to choose

We mourn deeds that we have done

Torture ourselves about words said supposedly in fun

Giving ourselves over to guilt as if there is no sun

Allow yourself to love you

Not the choices that have made you blue

Take your heart and shatter the stone

Realize that no matter what you are not alone

G-d's faith in you has always been strong

Trust G-D and with you, start to get along

Your past is not your prison

See past the dark and appreciate the prism

As no matter the colors in your life this night

They will all eventually come together as white

So love yourself and gain the sight

That you are always worth the fight.

Learn to Smile

When you think of yourself learn to smile

Even if it takes effort and the longest while

Don't add excuses to a needless pile

for then upside down goes your smile

,the smallest things suddenly get to you

and what is false starts to ring true

your mistakes are gifts that can make you wise

so you don't lose perspective to self pity and lies

yours is a Divinely forged beauty that noone can take away

As long as hope remains your mainstay

Love yourself so you see the love you have to give

living a life that wants you to live

So do not let life's gym take away your smile

G-D knows you are worth the effort so put in the extra mile

Cherishing Our Fallen

How do we comfort the family of our fallen

How do we fill their perpetual void

Who could sit in a chair that will always be empty

How do we collect the tears that randomly appear

Maybe we could make our hearts so big inside

So that all the fallen will have a place to reside

Remembering always what they gave up in order to give

So that we may be safe and have a passion to live

Hugging each day where they no longer stay

Not letting ego get in the way

Full of gratitude and a will to aspire

Living a life that these heroes inspire
